Central Working Development Party (CDWP) approved the University of Haripur’s Project

The Central Working Development Party (CDWP) meeting was held under the Chairmanship of Minister of Planning Makhdum Khusro Bakhtyar. The CDWP accorded approval to 17 projects worth Rs. 18.8 billion whereas recommended nine projects worth Rs.594.5 billion to Executive Council of National Economic Council (ECNEC) for Consideration. 





Amongst the approved projects included the University of Haripur’s project titled “Strengthening and Development of Physical and Technological Infrastructure at The University of Haripur” worth Rs. 1546.960 million. This long awaited project is expected to significantly transform the academic and research landscape of the university and shall help UOH to greater extent in achieving, maintaining and sustaining excellence in diverse spheres. 





Speaking on the occasion, The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Anwar ul Hassan Gillani appreciated and acknowledged the role of diverse group of people in making this project happened. He gratefully acknowledged and thankfully appreciated the role of Mr. Umar Ayub Khan, Federal Minister for Power Division for his efforts in re-inclusion of this once dropped project in the Federal PSDP and its subsequent approval from CDWP. The Vice Chancellor regarded his efforts rewarding not only for University of Haripur but for the people of overall district Haripur. 





He further highlighted that this project will go along way in significantly influencing the socio-economic development of district Haripur as well Pakistan in near and distant future.
