He obtained his BSc Agri (Hon)-Nutrition (1975) and MSc in Pharmacology (1978) with distinction from University of Agriculture, Faisalabad and started his professional career in 1979 as a lecturer of Pharmacy at Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan.
